Room of the Day- Turquoise Beach Bedroom

I love this vibrant turquoise room! Reminds me a bit of the beach. Firstly, the walls are turquoise, depicting the ocean. I love the crystal chandelier and the wall lamps; It really brings out the elegance of this room.  The wall lamps shape and style makes me think of the different sea creatures. The bed is a pastel white colour which reminds me of sand at the beach. The colour scheme really compliments each other.

It is a cute girly room! I like it!

Fun Office Spaces!

Design is very important when it comes to office space. For example, if lighting is seriously reduced, that can result in an employee coming up with a headache and that headache causes them to feel sick that they don't come into work and the company ends up losing money. So it is important that when an office space is designed, it is designed so well, that staff love coming into work and can make even more money for the company.

Some of the largest companies in the world have the most playful and fun office space! The design of the offices could be their little secret to why they do so well! Who Knows?? :P

Back to the Books!

So summer is slowing and unfortunately coming to an end. I hope everyone is having a great summer. Now we are heading into the more "serious months" where school/ work begins and an office is definitely needed. I have spoken about my dream offices here before, but a home library to store all the books from previous and future years is needed! Below are multiple home library's to have this autumn! Enjoy!

Houzz Studies! - LOCZIdesign

I was casually scrolling through Houzz and I came across this gorgeous dining table. Firstly the colours are so inviting, who knew that different shades of purple & pink can look so amazing and could bring the colour blocking effect rather than a riot. I love the chairs, the aesthetics are so unusual, but so beautiful. What really tops the look is the gold centre pieces, so random, but yet so perfect. I looked more into the design on Houzz and loved the general design of the whole home. It was designed by a company called LOCZIdesign from San Francisco. Check out their Website Here!

Room of the Day!- Anna Casa's Neutral Living Room

I have literally fallen in love with this living room- the colour scheme is extremely calming and elegant. The designer, Anna Casa, has used natural neutral tones with a pop of purple. The cushions are beautiful and from the image I can feel the texture of them as well as the texture of the rug as well.

All about Lucite!!!

A simple Lucite Chair
I was going through an interior design blog yesterday and came across Lucite Furniture. Lucite is a transparent, translucent acrylic that can be used in furniture suitable for extremely modern decor. I find it gorgeous and tasteful and I feel it brings forth an elegant ambiance to a room. Above is a simple Lucite Chair and it is mainly used in formal events such as weddings, but it could also be used in a home in multiple ways. It can be used as a kitchen table, an office chair and most importantly you can add padding or decorations to make it more homely. Below are a few ways Lucite can be used...

Room of the Day! - Ashy Purple with a bit of Glitz

Looking at this bathroom, it is easy to say how classy and elegant it is. People today see classy and elegant as something basic and maybe not so much work goes into it. I look at this bathroom and notice a lot of different things. Not only the obvious grey stoned walls and the crystal chandelier above the bath tub which are outstanding; but I also see the exceptional ashy purple walls which really compliment the stoned walls. The ceiling as well is sort of an ashy lilac colour which compliments the alternate shade of purple.

I love the crystal clear white bath tub, skirting boards, toilet and windows. It really brings out the overall gracefulness of the bathroom.

The dusty wooden floors and the chocolate wooden (I think it is a bathroom cabinet) are the most random colours to go with this design, but it fits in perfectly and I truly love it.

Statement on the Wall!

I spoke about this in April Mags! You think all you need to do to a wall is just paint it a nice neutral colour. Don't get me wrong, neutral painted walls are gorgeous, but the furniture in the room really has to be on point to really bring out the beauty in it. So Statement walls are for those who love simple furniture. Check some of the following Walls that I believe are elegant and mind-blowing.

Love this Teal Wall with its golden stripes going in different directions. This looks like the wall was taped to get this look which does take a while but it really pays off. It is gorgeous!

April Mags! - Period Homes & Interiors

April already! Time goes by way too fast. So I picked up this magazine simply because the cover really caught my attention. Everyone has a preferred colour, but when I see purple, automatically my eyes see nothing else. So yes, the purple font on the cover engaged me. Plus the title of this month’s magazine is called ‘Perfection with pastels’ and last month I did a post on pastel colours and how it is related to spring, so I really wanted to hear what others had to say about it.

Kent Dinner Decorations!

After the decorations I did for my friends 21st, I was approached to do decorations for an event at Kent University. I was so excited and looking forward to getting back onto the decorating scene. I really did not plan to be an event decorator, as I love homes and thought that was only where I was heading, but working more and more on it, my passion for events has really increased and is ALMOST at the same level as home interiors.

Anyways back to the event. This was such a challenge and I am so happy everything went well, thank God. It was nerve wrecking because the budget was quite small, but it was done!

So here it is. A dinner event for 50 people (5 tables of 10)

The theme was black, gold with a touch of green.

All about Furniture with Natural Wood!

I love going through my interior design apps and coming across the most intriguing pieces of furniture. I came across numerous bespoke pieces of furniture incorporating natural wood. However, this is not my personal style, I feel it is a bit masculine and quite edgy. I can imagine some of the pieces in a bar, or a bachelor pad. Other pieces are a bit too strong and maybe even a little crazy for my liking; but on the other hand I can really appreciate the style. Here are a few examples:-

March Mags!!!

March is over already, I have been so MIA this month, mostly due to university work and all, but now I am back, commenting on Homes & Gardens this month… Enjoy!

The cover this month is quite interesting, it gives the illusion that it is outside when in reality, it is indoors. What gives off the illusion is the brick wall and the greyish blue shade of it which is like the colour of a road. The rough wooden mirror board and cabinet reminds me of a shed in a garden. The floral arrangements that have been chosen look like a tree during Autumn . Homes & Gardens have called this a Modern Style. For me, I can really appreciate the style and how creative the designer is for coming up with this.. However, It is not my ideal look in my home.

Spring Thing!

What's your favourite season? For me, each season has it's perks. I'm actually really into spring, I love spring cos it's the beginning of warmth, the prettiest flowers start to come out (including my favourites Hydrangeas) and the earth starts to have some colour. it's also close to summer which is when my birthday is :) !

Room of the Day!- Barbie and Ken

What originally caught my eye when I saw this room was how modern it was. I love the lime green chairs, what looks to me like a kitchen table with a book shelf. The decorator put random pieces together to literally create a master piece! But what is the most outstanding random piece yet is barbie and ken walking around a pool in the form of wall art. So bespoke and different, I think it is a love or hate thing, I have always been team barbie so I'm loving this haha!

Room of the Day! -Royal Blue

Royal blue is such a striking colour and I love the way it blends with gold in this picture-It definitely looks very royal. I love the design of the coffee table, it's so modern and it blends with the neutral shade of the sofas. I think the sofas work really well because of the contrast between the dark and light tones! The royal blue is quite a dark shade and the cream sofas are fairly light. I have always said that when you have a dark vibrant colour, it is important to mix it with a light colour just because they complement each other extremely well.

Now when it comes to the finishing touches I am so intrigued by the pink flowers on the table and the plant at the back because it is so random and you won't expect it to work with the theme of the room, but when it is put together it looks phenomenal!

February Mags!!!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the second edition of Mags! If you missed last months Click Here!!

Last time I mentioned that this month I am going to be looking at ‘House & Garden’ and ‘Elle Decoration’, Instead of sticking to my original plan, I was drawn to ‘The World of Interiors (WOI)'. The others did not seem to catch my eye the way WOI did.

The BEDroom!!!

People always wonder why their bed at home doesn't look as comfortable as those on tv, or magazines or show rooms. They wonder what is it about their bed that is so different to those ones. The first step is people need to stop thinking of a bed as a place to sleep and more as the centrepiece of the bedroom. Your bed should make a statement!

Below are a few steps that can be taken to achieve this look.

Room of the Day! - My Dream Office

It's no surprise that I want to be an Interior Designer and as this is my chosen profession, it is important that everything about me shows this. I see myself dealing with multiple projects in this office! There are a number of reasons I am particularly fond of this room, the main reason is how the décor is extremely eye catching; I love how luxurious it looks, with the metallic glass desk and the gold with a hint of black chandelier. I love how simple but tasteful the curtains are, I feel it works as the room itself is fairly busy. I love the patterns on the office chair and the picture frame behind it, it truly makes a difference to the room! What really makes this office stand out is all the finishing touches on the desk. There are picture frames, ornaments and vases with a variety of flowers! I am extremely blown away by this room and I am hoping to have an office like this one day!

Mirror Mirror on the wall!

Mirrors add glamour and elegance to every room! The reflection of the décor of the room really shines out of the typically glass coated surface. What makes mirrors even more interesting are the detailed bespoke frames, which can range from standard wood to metal, seashells or even diamonds- it really gives an alluring addition to the already decorated room. Below are some pictures that show how a mirror can not only change the dynamic of a room, but also be the selling point of that same room.

What a little girl wants!

When I was little, I was such a girly girl. I loved pink, dolls, nail polish etc! I have not really changed much since then, I am still very much girly, but I have toned down a bit. I was going through my decorating app and came across a few things I would have wanted as a little girl, and somethings I still would not mind having now- but for my age.

The first picture is of a baby girls room. The theme is very light and girly. The main colour is pink with floral patterns on the curtains and bedding. I think the flowers keep the aura of the room quite simple and calm which is what a new born needs when they come home. I really love the lamp shades, I feel it adds a beautiful touch to the room, especially the fact that there are many of them.

Room of the Day! - Navy Blue

I was speaking to my dad about how it would be nice to paint one of the rooms in our house navy blue and he explained how dark and unwelcoming the room would be! I had to stop for a second to think that maybe he had a point, but I definitely knew exactly what I was talking about. Yes, navy blue is dark and it could definitely make a room look dull, but whatever colour that is used with it will really make a difference. The picture above shows what I am referring to- using white and cream brings out the blue in a refreshing way. What I was thinking instead, was having striped wallpaper- white and navy blue, but the picture is just as good.

All about Lacquered Walls!!!

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken out their time to go through this blog! I am so overwhelmed. :)If you don't already follow @sainteriors on Instagram, please do; it shows my decorating style and what I am inspired by.
The whole point of me doing this blog is for me to express my love for décor and to learn more about it.

So a few days ago I posted the second picture below on Instagram just because I thought it looked pretty cool. I loved how shiny and glossy the walls were and I loved the whole black and white combination. I received a comment from someone saying "The Lacquered walls are gorgeous!" I will not lie, but I had no idea what Lacquered walls were, I had never heard of it x_x!

21'st Decorations!!!

So here they are!!! This was such a fun night, everything went according to plan! The decorating itself took under an hour as I had a lot of people helping me put everything together. However there was a lot of planning that I had done before hand and we were organised for the day.

My previous post 'Heading in a new direction?' (Click Here)described the process of how I put the decorations together.

All about purple!!!

Purple is my all time favourite colour just because of how royal and elegant it is ! It also has a 'girly' appeal to it, which I can admit I am a bit of a girly girl! Because purple is such a bold colour, it is important to mix it with light shimmery colours to bring out it's elegance. As you can see from the images above, purple is mixed with neutral, natural tones and it's gorgeous!

January Mags!!!

January came and went so quickly! This month was filled with so much; I had university deadlines, decorating for my friends birthday, getting the hang of the new year and trying to stick to my resolutions. One month has passed now and in the interior design world everything still seems to be festive.

This month I purchased 'House & Garden' and 'Ideal Home' magazines. Both still referred to christmas, However judging by Ideal Home's cover, it seems to be way more 'christmassy' as it has a christmas tree on it and the colour scheme is silver and white with sparkles. House and Garden's cover has a warmer tone to it, which refers more to the idea that it is winter so everyone should keep warm. This is done by what seems to be an entrance to a foyer, decorated with an antique table, flowers and lamps.

Room of the Day!

I am actually so in love with this couch. The colour is so bold and I adore the way the cushions, the carpet and the drapes are white. The contrast between the couch and it's surroundings is so beautiful. It is not just the colour scheme, but also the material and the rendering! I can imagine this going perfectly in a walk-in closet/ dressing room at the rear end. With a beautiful crystal chandelier hanging over it and white cupboards going around this circular room where all my clothes, shoes and handbags go. In front of it can be a white or silver chest of draws with bold pink (same as the chair) hydrangeas placed nicely on top! Huge mirrors at the other end of the room with crystal detail around the board of the mirror! I love it!

Heading in a New Direction?

It is amazing to have friends and family who truly believe in your ambitions and what you want to do in life. This weekend I went to one of my best friend's 21st. She had a really elegant dinner party. I was by her side planning it all just because I love organising events and did not mind helping to get everything sorted. One thing she did put me in charge of was decorating the venue, which I did feel slightly uncomfortable about just because I never really saw myself being an events decorator but more of an interior designer for homes. There were 5 tables that needed decorating as well as a table for the cake. Although I did see it as a bit of a challenge, I had no problem going for it.

My friend gave me a theme of pale pink and black and I did my best to incorporate what she wanted as well as keeping it looking as sophisticated as possible.

The restaurant had already given us black chairs and black table cloths, so I tried not to incorporate any more black into the venue so it will not look dark.
